Transition Resources: Think Tanks

These documents provide resources related to the transition to the next presidential administration from various think-tanks and research organizations.

The Brookings Institution has created a website for its project The Presidential Transition with reports and other information specifically related to the transition. Other Brookings resources include:

The Centre for International Governance Innovation of Canada has, in a partnership with the American think tank The Hudson Institute, compiled a series of reports on the presidential election and the transition in the form of issue-based video commentary, the fourth of which deals specifically with the transition. The commentary series is hosted on the Hudson Reports page. The group also has a series of reports collectively entitled "A Regional Agenda for the Next U.S. Administration" that deals with the future of American policy from a general North American perspective.

The Center for the Study of the Presidency has released its report "Presidential Leadership to Ensure Science and Technology in the Service of National Needs," with recommendations for strengthening White House S&T decision making

The Council on Foreign Relations has a Transition 2008 website that includes reports, briefings, and transcripts of events all related to issues facing the next President and his administration.

The IBM Center for the Business of Government

The National Academy of Public Administration has a Presidential Transition website that includes a series of reports with recommendations for the transition and the next administration.

The Pew Center on Global Climate Change has a page with transition information, including a statement from the center's president and a set of recommendations for the new president on climate policy.

The Urban Institute has an "Advice to President-Elect Obama" site that includes recommendations for the next President on a variety of policy matters.

The White House Transition Project provides general resources for information on the transition to a new administration.
